Privacy Policy: What We Collect and How You Control It

This page explains how Digital Footprint Academy handles information when you browse our learning resources, send a message, or subscribe to course updates. It covers the data we process, the reasons behind it, and the steps you can take if you want to review, correct, or remove what we hold.

Data we collect Information you give us directly

When you fill in a form on this site, we receive the fields you enter: your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the message itself. We also store the date the request was submitted so we can follow up in the right order. Nothing beyond those fields is required to reach us.

Technical data Device, browser, and usage signals

Our hosting and analytics tools record basic technical details automatically: browser type and version, operating system, approximate region, referring page, and which pages you open. This helps us spot broken links, slow sections, and content that learners skip. It is not used to build personal profiles.

Cookies and tracking What is stored on your device

We use a small number of cookies for session handling and aggregate analytics. They do not follow you across unrelated websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; some interactive parts of the site may behave differently if you do.

Why we process it Purposes and legal basis

We process your data to answer enquiries, deliver the educational content you requested, keep the site secure, and understand which modules are useful. Under the GDPR, this rests on your consent when you submit a form, on our legitimate interest in operating the site, and on legal obligations where they apply.

Sharing Third-party services and processors

We rely on external providers for hosting, email delivery, form handling, and analytics. They process data only on our instructions and under contract. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. Where a provider operates outside the EU, transfers follow recognised safeguards.

Retention How long we keep records

Enquiry messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve the request and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference. Analytics data is aggregated and retained in a form that no longer identifies you. When the retention period ends, records are deleted or anonymised.

Your rights Access, correction, deletion, portability

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, request corrections, ask us to delete it, or receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent for future processing or object to processing based on legitimate interest. We respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law, including GDPR and, where relevant, CCPA.

Children Age expectations

Our learning resources are intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from younger visitors. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will remove it.

Accuracy No misleading claims

We describe our educational modules plainly. We do not promise certifications, job placement, income, or specific outcomes, and we do not use fake urgency, invented endorsements, or implied affiliation with brands we are not connected to. If something on this site reads as unclear or overstated, tell us and we will correct it.

Updates Changes to this policy

When our tools or practices change, this page is updated and the revision date below is adjusted. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised version. We recommend checking back occasionally if you interact with our forms.
